Weather's Poetic Justice

On Wyckoff Avenue These Days It's Snow, Snow, Snow .... and Rain!

these days, the weather has gotten particularly cold in a very short time. it dropped suddenly right after Labor Day, then more even before Halloween. a slight repreive, but then another drop before Thanksgiving, then a very mild and wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, then colder skies and temps thru December.

now we have inches of snow, about 6 inches, that's all over the cars, streets and sidewalks here in New York. and it's not only getting colder, it's snowing again as i just found out stepping outside throwing out the trash. it sucks, ok? i want warm weather again. or move New York to where Miami sits. or just move to Miami.

oh well, the change of seasons. April showers bring May flowers, y'know?

The Nabe

When we say the nabe is diverse, we mean it:

maria hernandez park is a popular place to relax and play around here. see 70 wyckoff in the background?
we got the skyline view as well - great dramatic view of all of manhattan. a view from the loft.

Two convenient subway stations - this is one of them.

great tortilla factory (on the left down the street with the sign) on starr st.

post office and 24-hour laundromat/dry cleaners at wyckoff and hart st.

lots and lots of loft apartments sprinkled in neatly with the lovely rowhomes.

generations playing and enjoying life throughout the nabe...

cool neighbors enjoying java at the local javery (coffee shop, folks).

you can always stay cool at the playground in maria hernandez park.

cute ladies walking around all over (ok, so this one is with her BF) ...

brunch or dinner or drinks at northwest kingdom on wyckoff & troutman.

the entrance to maria hernandez park.

mexcian restaurant and coffee shop at starr, right outside the jefferson st L station...

here's the B38, running down DeKalb, stopping to pick up passengers from the DeKalb L subway station. This bus will take you to Downtown BK, Ft. Greene, or Ridgewood.

and here's the B13, which runs on Wyckoff right above the L (which is also here at DeKalb Station), with Tacos La Hacienda Cafe, the Post Office, Heaven Scent Laundry, C-Town and 70 Wyckoff all in line behind it. We have it all, folks!

The new garden courtyard at 70 Wyckoff Lofts makes for some green space.
You go green, Brooklyn!
